Several petrol stations in Lahore stopped selling petroleum products after supplies fell short of demand, causing difficulties for motorists across the city.

According to industry sources, fuel pumps were receiving about 50% less oil than required, leading to shortages of petrol and diesel at multiple locations.

Some stations suspended sales after exhausting their available stocks, while motorists reported having to visit several pumps to find fuel.

Lahore’s daily petrol demand is estimated at about 4.5 million litres, while diesel demand stands at approximately 2.5 million litres.

The reported supply disruption raised concerns about longer queues and possible transport problems if normal deliveries were not restored quickly.

Residents called on the government and relevant regulatory authorities to ensure an uninterrupted supply of petroleum products to the city and prevent artificial shortages or hoarding.
