Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif Friday apologised in the National Assembly for using the word ‘dacoit’ for vice-chancellors, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
“My words should be expunged from the proceedings of the National Assembly. I have great respect for educational institutions and teachers. I apologise if the teachers were hurt,” he said.
“Corruption has become a tradition in our country. There is more politics in educational institutions than in this House,” he added.
“Corruption is so widespread in society that no one considers it bad. Corruption is an ulcer for any society,” he stated.
