A tragic incident occurred near Islamabad Crossing in Hyderabad, where a gas cylinder exploded at a railway depot, claiming the life of a 10-year-old boy and injuring his father, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Monday.

According to police and rescue officials, the explosion took place while an LPG cylinder was being filled at a filling station located inside the garage of the railway depot.

Police confirmed that the deceased child has been identified as Umar Hussain, aged 10. His body was shifted to a local hospital for medico-legal formalities.

Rescue sources added that the child died on the spot, while his father sustained serious injuries in the explosion and was immediately rushed to Hyderabad Civil Hospital for emergency treatment.

Initial findings suggest that the blast occurred due to overpressure during gas refilling, but a detailed investigation is underway.
