Former Pakistani model and actress Sanam Chaudhary, who left the industry in her flourishing days for the sake of religion, has suggested her possible return to the drama industry, but on a certain condition, in a drama serial aiming to promote the teaching of Islam.
Despite being away from the industry, Sanam kept updating the fans through social media handles.
She conducted a question-and-answer session on her Instagram account, allowing admirers to interact with her where a fan asked her possible appearance in the drama industry.
The fan asked, “Can you join the drama industry with hijab” to which the former actress replied “I can if the drama has a message that can bring the viewers closer to Allah and I could be in my boundaries properly in hijab”
Sanam Chaudhry responded that she is willing to make a return in dramas by remaining within the boundaries of hijab and choosing only those stories that are influential in bringing people closer to the religion, Islam.
“I can, if the drama has a message that can bring viewers closer to Allah, and I could be in the boundaries properly in Hijab.”
Her views sparked debate as some spoke in her favor of prioritizing hijab and religious dramas. A person commented “You are an inspiration Allah Pak keep you and us on way of hidayat”
Another wrote “we appreciate you in drama again”
Others expressed their displeasure by remarks such as “Double standard Islami”, “If you start parda then do it properly!!” and “Actresses have made fun of hijab. First they leave the industry for the sake of hijab and later return to it”
Sanam’s desire to work in dramas again earned her mixed comments, no matter if it’s a religious drama.
