Historic achievement: Alizey Khan becomes first Pakistani woman to receive Diana Legacy Award

In recognition of her services, Alizey Khan, the 26-year-old founder of the Ruhil Foundation, made history in Pakistan by receiving the esteemed Diana Legacy Award from none other than Prince William.

The Diana Legacy Award, bestowed every two years, celebrates the remarkable contributions of 20 young leaders worldwide who have demonstrated outstanding dedication to social action and humanitarian efforts.

This year, Alizey's tireless work caught the attention of the judging panel, chaired by Baroness Doreen Lawrence, amidst tough competition from a pool of exceptional individuals recognized for their impactful initiatives.

Since establishing the Ruhil Foundation, Alizey has been at the forefront of combating food insecurity by providing ration bags and cooked meals to those in need. Her initiatives extend beyond mere sustenance, as she also offers support for weddings and organizes hygiene drives in underdeveloped areas. Not stopping there, Alizey is actively involved in ensuring education for the children and fundraising for orphanages in Lahore.

Not to stop there, throughout the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, Alizey's efforts only intensified as she distributed ration bags to flood-affected regions in Punjab, Sindh, and Balochistan, showcasing her unwavering commitment to serving her community.

The Diana Legacy Award, marking the 25th anniversary of The Diana Award, a charity established in memory of the late Princess of Wales, emphasizes Diana's belief in the transformative power of young people. With the support of both her sons, The Prince of Wales and Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, the Diana Legacy Awards continue to honor and celebrate the extraordinary contributions of young leaders like Alizey Khan, who exemplify the spirit of compassion, determination, and hope, echoing the timeless ideals of Princess Diana herself.
