The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been in the process of finalising the coaching staff for the national team, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
However, the process has hit a roadblock due to unforeseen circumstances.
Shane Watson, the former Australian cricketer, was a strong contender for the position of head coach.
Unfortunately, due to personal commitments and pre-planned family engagements, Watson had to step back from the opportunity.
The PCB had previously engaged in discussions with Watson regarding the coaching role.
His experience and expertise made him a strong candidate for leading the Pakistani cricket team.
However, no further conversations about the role have taken place since Watson’s return from coaching the Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
This development has led to the elimination of Watson’s chances of becoming the head coach for the Pakistan cricket team. The PCB is now likely to look for other suitable candidates to fill the position.
