The government on Saturday increased the petroleum levy by Rs10 per litre.
Now the petroleum levy has been increased from Rs60 per litre to Rs70 per litre.
Sources say that petroleum levy has been increased in line with the assurances given to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) by the government of Pakistan.
Earlier in the day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced that prices of petroleum products will remain unchanged for the next two weeks.
