Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has thanked the government and people of Pakistan for extending their “strong solidarity and support” to Iran and its people who were facing aggression from the US and Israel.
In a post uploaded on X platform in Urdu language on Monday, Foreign Minister Araghchi said: “On this blessed, divine, and spiritual day and hour, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for their full-throated expression of solidarity and support with the people and government of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of the aggression by America and the Zionist regime.”
Araghchi maintained that Iran stood with “steadfastness and perseverance in defence of its sovereignty and territorial integrity, with complete reliance on Allah Almighty”.
The Iranian foreign minister added that the unity and support extended by Pakistan reflected strong backing for Iran against the aggression carried out by the United States and Israel.
The statement comes amid escalating tensions in the Middle East after the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28, with Tehran retaliating by targeting US bases across the Gulf region, including Saudi Arabia, with missiles and drones.
