Two judges of the Lahore High Court (LHC) will retire next month after reaching the constitutional age limit, a development that will increase the number of vacant posts in the court to 20.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, both the Lahore High Court judges will retire upon reaching the age of 62 years.
Justice Shujaat Ali Khan is scheduled to retire on April 22. He was appointed as a judge of the Lahore High Court on March 27, 2012, and currently holds the second position in the seniority list of judges.
Justice Asjad Javed Ghural will retire on April 29. He was appointed as a judge of the Lahore High Court on November 26, 2016, and presently stands at the 13th position in the seniority list.
Following the retirement of the two judges, the number of vacant seats in the Lahore High Court will rise to 20, highlighting the growing need for new judicial appointments to ensure the smooth functioning of the court.

Justice Shujaat Ali Khan was born on the 23rd of April, 1964, in Lahore. He completed basic education in Lahore and did his Senior Cambridge at Cathedral High School in 1979. Graduated from Government F.C. College, Lahore, in 1984 and earned a master's in English in 1987 from Government College, Lahore. Joined the Punjab Law College, Lahore, and obtained an LL.B. degree in 1995.
Worked as a lecturer of English at Aitchison College, Lahore, from 1989 to 1990. Completed the Executive Development Programme from Masood Institute of Professional Studies w.e.f. 07-11-1992 to 17-03-1993.
Worked as manager of tax and corporate affairs in the chartered accountant firm Qadeer & Company, managed the tax & corporate affairs department and dealt with major private and public limited companies, providing registrar services. Worked as an advocate in the High Court in Hamid Law Associates, one of the leading law firms of Lahore, dealing with corporate, civil & banking cases of a number of national & multinational banks as their legal advisor & many private & public limited companies.
Assisted Zahid Hamid, Advocate Supreme Court, for the "NWFP Environmental Protection Ordinance". Enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court on 12th September, 1998, and fitness for an Advocate of the Supreme Court by the Lahore High Court Enrolment Committee was granted on 8th November, 2010. Worked as Assistant Advocate General, Punjab, from 14-02-2006 to 17-01-2012. Worked as Additional Advocate General, Punjab, from 17-01-2012 to 26-03-2012.
During the course of a legal professional career, conducted a large number of cases which were reported in various law journals. Appointed as Additional Judge of Lahore High Court on 27-03-2012.
