United States' Acting Ambassador to Pakistan, Natalie Baker, held an important meeting with Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi in Islamabad on Friday and discussed the regional situation following the ceasefire between Pakistan and India.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the meeting also included a detailed exchange on matters of mutual interest, Pakistan-US relations, and ways to further enhance bilateral cooperation.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump and the acting ambassador for their key role in facilitating the ceasefire between the two nuclear-armed neighbours.

Naqvi said that the credit for the ceasefire between two nuclear power countries, Pakistan and India, goes to President Donald Trump, as he saved the region from catastrophic destruction and rendered a great service to humanity.

He also welcomed President Trump's positive remarks about Pakistan's leadership and emphasised Pakistan’s desire to strengthen mutual cooperation with the United States.

On this occasion, Acting US Ambassador Natalie Baker stated that the United States enjoys excellent relations with Pakistan and will continue to support Pakistan in various sectors.

Federal Interior Secretary Khurram Agha was also present during the meeting.
