The weekly inflation in Pakistan, measured by the Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), remained 1.03 percent up during the week ended on May 15.
Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) weekly data released on Friday said that the prices of 18 items increased and 12 items decreased.
The commodities which recorded an increase in their average prices on year-on-year basis included chicken from Rs 434 to Rs 503, eggs Rs 22 per dozen, sugar Rs 4, tomatoes Rs2 , garlic 13kg and onion Rs1.
Mutton, flour, lentils, lentils, mung beans, mash, fresh milk became more expensive. The commodities which recorded major decrease in their average prices on a week-on-week basis included potatoes, rice, ghee and LPG.
