Authorities in the Central Region have imposed a complete ban on the entry of vehicles loaded with animals on motorways during the Eid-ul-Azha period in an effort to ensure public safety and maintain smooth traffic flow.
According to officials, the decision was taken due to growing concerns that overloaded and unfit vehicles transporting sacrificial animals could cause serious traffic accidents on major highways. Authorities said several dangerous accidents involving such vehicles had already occurred on motorways in the past.
Under the new directives, vehicles carrying animals will be diverted to alternative and safer routes instead of being allowed onto the motorway network. Officials stated that the primary objective of the ban is to prevent accidents and avoid traffic congestion during the busy Eid travel season.
The authorities have also directed the Punjab Police and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police to establish check posts at motorway entry points to ensure implementation of the restrictions.
In addition, orders have been issued for strict action against illegal parking near cattle markets and motorway interchanges. Officials warned that strict legal action would be taken against violators of traffic laws and vehicle loading standards.
