Member of the Punjab Assembly (MPA) Mohammad Ejaz Shafi, Judicial Activism Panel, and others have filed a petition in the Lahore High Court (LHC) challenging the hefty surge in fees of private medical colleges, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) and medical colleges were made respondents in the petition, filed on Saturday.
In the petition, the petitioners said that deserving candidates are unable to get admission in the medical colleges due to the increase in fees.
The petitioners appealed to the court to direct the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council to withdraw the additional fees and take stern action against those medical colleges which received the extra fees.
