The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday ordered closure of all educational institutions on Saturday in the wake of heavy smog engulfing the cities across Punjab, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
LHC’s Justice Shahid Karim remarked that all the government and private institution will have to adopt work-from-home practice twice a week.
During hearing of the case regarding smog, Justice Karim observed that smog is not the problem of Lahore only but it’s a problem of whole Punjab. “There should be a complete shutdown of schools and colleges on Saturday,” he added.
The judge further said they adopted this policy two years and now it will be enforced.
Justice Shahid then adjourned the hearing of the case until November 17.
