The key session of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has been convened on Monday (tomorrow) where no confidence motion will be presented against Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Chaudhry, reproted 24NewsHD TV Channel.
According to a circulation issued by AJK Assembly secretariat, voting for the election of new prime minister will also be held on the same day.
A resolution for a vote of no confidence was submitted to the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly’s special secretary, Amjed Latif Abbasi on Friday. On October 27, PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira announced that his party and the PML-N had agreed on bringing a no-confidence motion against the government in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The AJK Legislative Assembly has 52 members, and to achieve a simple majority, a party requires the support of 27 members.
Earlier, the PPP put forward the name of Faisal Rathore as their nominee for the position of the prime minister of the territory, its AJK party president said.
The resolution was handed over to Abbasi by PPP lawmakers Chaudhry Qasim Majeed, Sardar Javed Ayoub, Malik Zafar Iqbal and Chaudhry Ali Shan Soni. Assembly Secretary Chaudhry Basharat Hussain — a relative of AJK PM Chaudhry Anwarul Haq — did not attend office on Friday. The resolution signed by 25 lawmakers, 23 from the PPP and two from the PML-N — its regional president Shah Ghulam Qadir and his predecessor Raja Farooq Haider — accused Haq of having “lost the trust of the Legislative Assembly”.
However, MLA Taqdees Gilani has decided to joins PPP after meeting with PPP leader Faryal Talpur in Islamabad. Taqdees Gilani expressed confidence in PPP leadership.
Meanwhile, AJK Lawmaker Sabiha Siddique has refuted claimed that she has joined PPP. In her video message, Sabiha Siddique made it clear that this news item was contrary to the fact as she has no plan to vote PPP candidate. Sabiha Siddique made it clear that she will stand with Anwarul Haq Ch.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwaarul Haq, has said that the allegations made against me in the no-confidence motion are baseless, innocent and frivolous.
In an interview with a private channel, PM said those who wrote the allegations themselves do not know what they wrote.
He said that assembly members were always included in all cabinet decisions, breaking the status quo.
I had the authority to dissolve the assembly but decided to maintain the assembly in the national interest, the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir said.
To a question about no-confidence motion, he said the decision will be made in front of the people in the next 48 hours.
He said he worked 18 hours a day during the government to correct the direction of governance and took action against billions of rupees worth of wasted resources in Azad Kashmir, straightening out the institutions.
Chaudhry Anwarul Haq said he tried to improve education and health despite limited resources.
He said 110 percent of development funds were used in my government till September 31 and not a single rupee lapsed.
I also added three billion rupees from my own savings to the development fund in the government, Ch Anwarul Haq said.
He said allegation of delay in Kashmir Bank scheduling rejected as the entire process was a court decision and tendering.
Chaudhry Anwarul Haq said rules, tendering and committee report in the Rs6 billion health card project is inevitable.
Only those who can prove the allegations against me with evidence should make allegations, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq said.
