Kerosene oil price up by Rs9.29 per liter: Govt enhances petroleum levy by Rs1.60 per liter

The government on Saturday hiked the high-speed diesel price by Rs6 per litre  for the next fortnight.

However, the government kept the petrol price unchanged at Rs265.45 per litre.

The new prices of petroleum products are set on the recommendation of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra).

After diesel, the government notified an increase of Rs9.29 per liter in the price of kerosene oil.

The new price of kerosene oil is Rs194.34 per litre, according to the notification.

The increase in kerosene price will be effective from Nov 16.

Earlier, the price of kerosene was fixed at Rs 185.5 per litre.

Govt enhances petroleum levy by Rs1.60 per liter

A notification issued in this regard explained that the federal government increased the petroleum levy by Rs1.60 per liter, and now the total levy of petroleum products stands at Rs79.62 per liter.

The notification further stated that the government decreased the petroleum levy by Rs 1.60 paisa on high-speed diesel (HSD).

The total level of high-speed diesel reached at Rs75.41 paisa. The percentage of the petroleum and diesel levy will come into effect from November 16, 2026.

The public has been deprived of relief from shortages by increasing the levy on petrol.
