Senior PML-N leader and head of the Nawabzada family, Nawabzada Mazhar Ali Khan, passed away on Sunday at the age of 94.
He had been undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Lahore, family sources confirmed.
Nawabzada Mazhar Ali Khan, a prominent political figure from Gujrat, was elected to the National Assembly in 2013 on a PML-N ticket.
Over the course of his long public life, he also served once as a member of the Punjab Assembly and once as an MNA.
The Nawabzada family, one of the region’s most influential political dynasties, has been contesting elections since 1826, maintaining a continuous presence in local and national politics.
Funeral details are expected to be announced by the family.
