Karachi water supply hit as Dabeji pumps shut down again

Residents of Karachi are likely to face a shortage of 100 million gallons per day due to the K-Electric breakdown at the Dhabeji Pumping Station, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel on Sunday.

This is the second breakdown in the Dhabeji Pumping Station over the last ten days. The breakdown occurred at 6.35 am. Suspension of electricity affected line No 5.

A spokesman of the Dhabeji Pumping Station said that the second phase of the two pumps was stopped.

The spokesman further said that repairing work of the pumping station said that repairing work is underway and will be completed on an emergency basis.

It is necessary to mention here that on November 5, 2025, Dhabeji Pumping Station was closed for 36 hours due to a cable fault.

The spokesman said that after completion of the repairing work water supply will become normal.
