All roads leading to Raiwind were closed for traffic as the second round of Aalmi Tableeghi Ijtema concluded on Sunday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Maulana Ibrahim Dewla of India offered collective prayer.
One-way traffic plied on Raiwind to Lahore road, Sundar Road and Manga Road.
As many as 1,200 additional traffic police personnel were deployed on these routes on CTO Athar Waheed’s instructions.
The CTO said that traffic from the motorway and Ring Road would not be allowed to enter Raiwind until all participants left the venue of the congregation.
He further said that the traffic coming from Raiwind should reach the Ring Road via Adda Plot.
The CTO went on to say that road crossing would not be allowed from Raiwind Road, Manga Road and Sundar Road.
Waheed said that first of all motorcycle and rickshaw drivers would be asked to vacate their stands. “Later, car stands, wagon stands and then bus and truck stands will be vacated,” he added.
He said that routine traffic would be restored on roads once traffic congestion reduced.
He asked motorists to avoid travelling on the Raiwind Road between 7:00 AM and 12:00 at noon.
