Minister of State for Interior Affairs Talal Chaudhry said on Sunday that the government was prepared to introduce further constitutional amendments if required to stabilise the country.
Speaking to the media at Jameah Chaudhry Sunni Rizvi in Jhang Bazaar, Faisalabad, he said that the 27th Amendment would bring improvements to the judicial system.
Chaudhry stated that constitutional amendments were the prerogative and right of parliament, adding that the resignations submitted by some lawmakers were based on political motives.
He said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s political opponents were “running away from elections,” insisting that a PML-N victory in Faisalabad would not be surprising.
The minister said the party would win elections on the basis of its performance and public service record.
