An application was submitted to the Islamabad Bar Council on Tuesday, seeking the cancellation of the licence of Advocate Imaan Mazari for allegedly being involved in anti-state activities, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Advocate Adnan Iqbal, in his petition, alleged that Imaan had been running campaigns against the government officials by making inflammatory speeches against them.
He further alleged that the lawyer incited others to rebellion against the state institutions.
Advocate Iqbal said that Imaan had connections with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM).
To cut a long story short, he went on to say, Imaan supported every movement, the purpose of which was to harm the state by inciting people against it. “The truth of the matter is that the lawyer is bringing a bad name to the legal fraternity and is using the legal profession as a shield.”
