Cotton Ginners Forum Chairman Ehsan-ul-Haq has said that despite the floods and rains, the cotton crop is still safe across the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.
He said the cotton crop has been affected to some extent due to rains and floods in Bahawalnagar and Muzaffargarh districts but overall it is safe.
Cotton prices in Punjab are stable at Rs16,300 per 40 kilogram and in Sindh at Rs16,000 per 40 kg, Ehsan-ul-Haq said.
He said the purchase and sale of cotton is being seen limited due to the disruption of the transport system due to rains and floods.
