For the first time in the history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a woman has been appointed SSP in the police department, 24NewsHD TV reported on Monday.
Ali Ayesha Gul, a native of Swabi district, has been appointed SSP Investigation Peshawar.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police inspector general has issued a notification for the appointment of the first woman SSP.
Ayesha Gul belongs to the Police Service of Pakistan group and has previously served as AIG Gender.
The grade 18 officer recently returned home after completing a course abroad.
