Pakistani delegation led by Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan visited Uzbekistan, as a part of new developments in Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations under the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the details, the representatives from the State Bank, National Bank, SIFC, and the Ministry of Industries are part of the delegation.
Haroon Akhtar Khan met Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and discussed connectivity, banking and trade between Pakistan and Uzbekistan. Uzbek PM expresses best wishes to Pakistani leadership and Haroon Akhtar Khan also conveyed best wishes from the Prime Minister of Pakistan. According to the details, the Pakistan has committed to timely launch of Trans-Afghan Railway project. Haroon Akhtar Khan also proposed to open National Bank of Pakistan branch in Uzbekistan. In the meeting, Pakistan, Uzbekistan are also considering extension of preferential trade agreement.
According to the details, The Pakistani investment opportunities, especially in the pharmaceutical sector, are also under discussion, as both countries are committed to continuing high-level contacts.
Haroon Akhtar Khan said that Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations are to be further strengthened and business relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan will be further promoted. He said that the bilateral cooperation will promote economic stability in the region, as Pakistan and Uzbekistan will advance joint projects.
