Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) chairman, Hafeez Ur Rehman files appeal against Islamabad High Court’s decision to remove him from office, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the details, the PTA Chairman filed an appeal under the Intra-Court Appeal Ordinance 1972. In the appeal he said that the appellant is the current chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA). Chairman PTA previously appointed as Member (Administration) in PTA on May 24, 2023 and then he was appointed as Chairman PTA on May 25, 2023.
According to appeal, Chairman PTA Major General (R) Hafeez ur Rehman is performing his duties in accordance with the laws and regulations and this appeal has been filed to prove the legal appointment of the PTA Chairman.
Islamabad High Court Judge Justice Babar Sattar, while delivering a reserved verdict today, decided to remove the Chairman PTA from office. The appellant, Chairman PTA, has also requested the court to schedule the appeal for urgent hearing.
