YouTuber Rajab Butt’s controversy has taken a fresh turn after his friend Nadeem Nani Wala hit back at actor Tipu Sharif for criticising Rajab over his controversial joke.
Nadeem called out Tipu over what he described as the actor’s earlier controversial remarks, asking him to address his own statement before continuing to criticise Rajab. He also demanded that Tipu publicly apologise for what he allegedly said in July.
The exchange comes after an old video of Rajab Butt resurfaced online, showing him making an inappropriate joke involving child sexual abuse during a live session with fellow content creator Zaid Ali. The clip triggered widespread criticism, with social media users and public figures condemning the remark as insensitive.
Rajab later issued a public apology, admitting that his comment was extremely inappropriate and should never have been made into a joke. He also acknowledged that the age of the video did not excuse his words.
Tipu Sharif was among those who criticised Rajab, questioning how someone with a large audience could make such a remark about child abuse. The actor stressed that sensitive issues such as child abuse, molestation and rape should not be treated casually or used for humour.
Nadeem responded by bringing up an earlier controversy involving Tipu. According to Nadeem, the actor had spoken about street dogs in July and used an example involving the rape of a young girl while making his point. Nadeem questioned why Tipu had not apologised at the time if he now believed that sensitive subjects should be discussed responsibly.
Nadeem argued that Tipu should hold himself to the same standard he was demanding from Rajab. He also questioned why the actor continued posting stories about Rajab even after the YouTuber had apologised for his controversial remark.
Nadeem further recalled Tipu’s previous comments about his acting career. According to Nadeem, the actor had said that HUM TV had not given him work for several years. Nadeem then tagged HUM TV and sarcastically asked the channel to cast Tipu in one of its upcoming projects.
Nadeem’s comments focus on what he described as a double standard and call on Tipu to address his earlier statement.
The controversy surrounding Rajab began after the old clip resurfaced online and drew strong criticism. Following the backlash, Rajab acknowledged the seriousness of his words and apologised to people whose sentiments or past traumas may have been affected by his remark.
With Nadeem now challenging Tipu over his alleged July comments, the dispute has opened a fresh social media clash around the original Rajab Butt controversy.
