Tamasha Season 5 contestant Babrik Shah has broken his silence on the viral rumour linking Esra Ayesha to his family, firmly rejecting claims that she is his sister-in-law. The actor’s blunt “fake news” clarification has added a dramatic twist to the growing buzz surrounding the two contestants.
The clarification came after former contestant Ramsha Salahuddin reportedly claimed during a live conversation with Jay Kadn that Esra Ayesha is Babrik’s sister-in-law. The unexpected statement quickly caught viewers’ attention, especially because of the striking resemblance between Esra and Babrik’s wife, Saima.
Babrik responded to the controversy through his official Instagram Story, sharing a post about the rumour and making his position clear. The message stated that although Esra may look similar to his wife, she is not Babrik’s sister-in-law and described the claim as “fake news.”
The resemblance between Esra and Saima had already become a topic of discussion among viewers. Social media users began comparing the two, particularly after Esra appeared wearing a similar bandana style in an episode of Tamasha Season 5. Some viewers even started wondering whether the two women could be sisters or relatives.
The latest speculation gained further attention after Ramsha referred to Esra as Babrik’s “sali” during her live conversation with Jay Kadn. The Urdu word is commonly used for a wife’s sister, which led viewers to believe that Ramsha was claiming a family connection between Esra and Babrik.
However, Babrik’s Instagram Story directly rejected that claim. By sharing the post and calling the information fake news, the actor made it clear that the rumoured relationship does not exist.
The controversy has largely centred on the physical resemblance between Esra and Saima. While the similarity has prompted plenty of online discussion, a resemblance between two people does not by itself establish a family relationship. Earlier coverage also reported that Saima had denied claims of being related to Esra.
Babrik and Esra have both attracted attention during Tamasha Season 5, with viewers closely following their lives and interactions inside the house.
