The federal government has approved a monthly allowance of Rs2,500 for government employees holding MPhil-equivalent degrees.
According to the decision, employees holding MPhil and equivalent qualifications will be entitled to the monthly allowance. The Rs2,500 monthly MPhil allowance is already being paid to MPhil degree holders, while the latest decision extends the benefit to holders of equivalent degrees.
The decision will be effective from July 17, 2026. The Ministry of Finance has issued a notification in this regard.
