Ibtisam Azhar takes seven-for to complete 10-wicket haul on day two of National U19 Championship

Ibtisam Azhar’s seven-wicket haul for Lahore Blues against Karachi Whites was the standout performance on the second day of the National U19 Championship 2026-27, as he completed 10 wickets across the two innings.

Group A

At the HPC Ground, Faisalabad, AJK were bowled out for 213 after resuming on 35 without loss, with Awais Ibrar scoring 68 and Ehtisham Ali 50. Sheharyar Waqar took five for 46 for Sialkot Whites. Having conceded a 114-run first-innings lead, Sialkot Whites reached 102 for two in their second innings, with Hamza Ali making 42 and ended the day 12 runs behind.

Due to overnight rain, no play was possible on the second day at the Saeed Ajmal Academy in Faisalabad. At stumps on the first day, Faisalabad had scored 171 for six against Abbottabad in their first innings.

Group B

At Ashfaq Cricket Ground, Charsadda, Lahore Blues reached 299 for six in 70 overs before right-arm off-spinner Ibtisam Azhar took seven for 72 to dismiss Karachi Whites for 205 in their second innings. Added to his three for 38 in the first innings, Azhar finished with 10 wickets in the match.

Chasing 38, Lahore Blues were 26 for two at stumps.

In Islamabad, the hosts were dismissed for 186, with Tayyab Mukhtiar taking four for 40. Bahawalpur then reached 159 for six to extend their overall lead to 231 runs, with Sadeem Abdullah scoring 55 and Muhammad Hamza 54.

Group C

At Faraz Cricket Ground, Sialkot, Larkana were bowled out for 119 before Faizan Shabir’s five for 27 helped dismiss Multan for 140. Set 170 to win, Larkana slipped to 66 for five, with Muhammad Haseeb taking three for 12.

At SOS Cricket Ground, Lahore Whites made 184, courtesy of half-centuries from Ahmad Khawaja and Naveed Ayub Khan. FATA, trailing by 38 on first innings, were 24 for one at stumps.

Group D

At Railways Cricket Ground, Lahore, Peshawar Blues were dismissed for 150 as Ahmad Bashir and Umar Farooq took four wickets each. Sialkot Blues then reached 210 for six, with Obaid Ur Rehman scoring 92 and Muhammad Taha Tariq remaining unbeaten on 50, stretching the lead to 312 runs.

At Azhar Ali Academy, Karachi Blues strengthened their position by reaching 232 for two after dismissing Dera Murad Jamali for 147. Aun Abbas was unbeaten on 97, Huzaifa Ahsan on 62, while Talha Irfan scored 50.
