Pakistani TikToker Nadeem Nani Wala has hit back at actress Sehar Khan after she publicly called out YouTuber Rajab Butt over his controversial remarks during a recent livestream with Zaid Ali, accusing the actress of displaying “selective outrage” and questioning why she does not speak with the same intensity about other cases.
The social media exchange began after Sehar took to Instagram and expressed her disappointment over Rajab’s remarks, stressing that public figures with large audiences should understand the responsibility that comes with their influence. She described his comment as shameful and questioned the standards of humour being promoted to thousands of followers.
Following Sehar’s statement, Nadeem took to his Instagram handle and shared a detailed story seemingly aimed directly at the actress.
In his post, Nadeem questioned why Sehar chose to speak out against Rajab but, according to him, remained silent during several other cases that had also generated public concern.
He referenced cases involving Aizal, six-year-old Muhammad Wali and Mir Raza Ali, asking why Sehar had not raised her voice with similar intensity over those incidents.
Nadeem acknowledged that Rajab’s comment was wrong but pointed out that the YouTuber had subsequently apologised for it.
He further accused people of “jumping on the bandwagon” to gain attention, arguing that if someone wants to speak about injustice, they should maintain the same stance across different cases rather than speaking selectively.
“If you have so much courage, then speak up with the same intensity against every injustice,” Nadeem wrote, while also urging Sehar to question the government over the Form 47 controversy and raise her voice about alleged injustices in Karachi.
He then invited his followers to consider whether the outrage was “selective” or represented a genuine concern for oppressed people.
Nadeem’s post became even more personal when he took a direct swipe at Sehar’s motives, writing: “Give this poor thing some views. It seems she isn't getting viewership from dramas these days, so she thought she'd use Rajab Butt's name to gain a few views. Attention seeker!”
The remarks came after Sehar had publicly condemned Rajab following a viral clip from his livestream with Zaid Ali, during which he made an insensitive reference involving child abuse. The comment sparked backlash online, with critics questioning the appropriateness of using such a serious and traumatic subject as part of a joke.
However, the social media confrontation did not continue for long.
In a subsequent Instagram Story, Nadeem revealed that Sehar had personally reached out to him following his post and explained her position.
He claimed that the actress also told him she had deleted her earlier story after watching Rajab’s apology.
Nadeem then softened his stance and said he respected Sehar for contacting him directly instead of allowing the disagreement to escalate further on social media.
“My position was simple: if someone makes a mistake, call them out, but when they acknowledge it and apologise, that should also be recognised,” he wrote.
Clarifying that there was no personal hostility towards the actress, Nadeem added: “No personal issue with Sehar. From my side, the matter ends here with respect. Positivity over unnecessary social media wars.”
The exchange has since highlighted a broader debate around accountability on social media, with the controversy moving from Rajab Butt’s original remark to questions over how public figures respond to sensitive issues and whether apologies should bring such disputes to an end.
