The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) raided a call centre in Karachi and arrested 27 accused, including three owners and four Afghan nationals, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The call centre is located at Shahrah-e-Faisal Business Avenue in Karachi.
According to details, all accused presented themselves as representatives of US banks and experts in debt settlement.
NCCIA recovered laptops, mobile phones, and other digital equipment from the possession of the accused.
NCCIA also obtained spoofing diallers and other equipment used for fraud. These accused influenced the foreign clients through their self-prepared scripts and pressured them to transfer their money through illegal channels.
Sensitive information and social security numbers of foreign nationals were also available in the call centre.
The accused, after obtaining details of bank accounts and credit and debit cards, used them to defraud the clients.
The arrested accused include management of the call centre, agents and their operational staff.
The owners of the call centres were later identified as Ali Siddique alias Medi, Fawad Ahmad, and Farooq.
27 accused were nominated in the first information report, including three owners of the call centre and four Afghan nationals.
The NCCIA deposited all the evidence in the forensic laboratory for testing. NCCIA also seized the bank statements.
