The government has increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) with effect from September 17, 2026, amid elevated international oil prices.

According to an official statement, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) determined the ex-depot prices of petroleum products for September 17.

The price of petrol has been increased by Rs6.88 per litre, taking the new price to Rs391.22 per litre.

The price of high-speed diesel has been raised by Rs5.62 per litre to Rs421.45 per litre.

The statement said crude oil and petroleum product prices remained elevated in the international market due to global uncertainty.

It said rising international oil prices were also affecting petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan.

The increase announced on Wednesday was primarily linked to higher petrol and diesel prices in the global market, the statement said.

It added that changes in domestic petroleum prices also reflected Platts rates, premiums and other relevant factors.
