PM directs setting up of facilitation desks for fuel subsidy scheme

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has directed the establishment of facilitation desks comprising administration officials, volunteers and petrol pump staff to enable people to avail the fuel subsidy.

He was chairing a review meeting regarding the PM Special Relief Scheme for motorcycles, rickshaws and 800cc cars in Islamabad today.

The Prime Minister instructed that the personnel at these desks should guide eligible citizens and provide all possible assistance in registration and completion of other necessary formalities.

He also directed the relevant authorities to remain proactive in creating public awareness about the scheme.

The meeting was informed that following the launch of the scheme's pilot phase in Islamabad, it has now been launched across the country, including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

It was informed that the scheme has been designed to make the registration process simple and easy for the public. Only four basic pieces of information are required for registration: CNIC number, vehicle number plate, province of registration and vehicle registration date.

The meeting was informed that the number of successful registrations is gradually increasing, while provincial governments are extending full cooperation for the nationwide implementation of the scheme.

It is pertinent to mention that under the scheme, fuel subsidies are being provided to owners of motorcycles, rickshaws and vehicles up to 800cc.
