Again lashing out at his party’s government, ‘estranged’ Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen on Saturday categorically denied he had any role in increasing sugar price in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Talking to the media outside a banking court in Lahore, he regretted attempts were being made to malign him. “I have no idea that on whose instructions all this is being done,” he said, but hoped soon he would come to know who was ordering this.
He asked newsmen to see by themselves that none of the FIRs registered against him had any mention of his role in increasing the price of sugar nor was he described as a member of any mafia.
The ‘estranged’ PTI leader said initially he was a farmer, then became a businessman and eventually a politician.
Reporters, on the occasion, kept asking him questions, most of which he preferred not to answer.
He, on the occasion, also thanked PTI members for accompanying him to the court.
Earlier, in yet another ‘power show’, around 40 members of the Punjab Assembly and PTI leaders accompanied Jahangir Khan Tareen to the court.
Tareen’s bail extended till May 3
Earlier, a banking court extended the bail granted to PTI leader in fake accounts case till May 3.
Raja Riaz warns prime minister
Standing alongside PTI leader Jahangir Khan Tareen outside the banking court at the time of media talk, Member of the National Assembly (MNA) belonging to PTI Raja Riaz on Saturday threatened Prime Minister Imran Khan with parting of the ways if justice was not done to Tareen.
“Around 40 members of the assemblies and other PTI leaders demand justice from you for their leader Mr. Prime Minister!” he said while addressing PM Imran.
He further said that the prime minister was not taking time out to listen to Tareen, which, he said, was unfortunate. “It is better that things do not deteriorate further,” he warned.
