Information technology (IT) exports rose to $413 million in March 2026, registering a 21 per cent increase year-on-year (YoY) and 13 per cent growth month-on-month (MoM), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to details, IT exports reached $3.39 billion during the first nine months of FY26, reflecting a 20 per cent YoY increase. Net IT exports, calculated as exports minus imports, stood at $360 million in March, up 16 per cent compared to the same period last year.
Despite the government’s target of $5 billion IT exports for FY26, it expects the sector to post growth of 18-20 per cent during the year, taking total exports to around $4.5 billion, compared with $3.8 billion in FY2025.
The report added that under the government’s ‘Uraan Pakistan’ economic plan, IT exports are projected to reach $10 billion by FY29, implying a compound annual growth rate of 27 per cent over the next three years.
Analysts said sustained policy support, a stable exchange rate, and continued global demand for digital services would remain key drivers for the sector’s growth trajectory.
