Commercial activity at Gwadar Port has gained fresh momentum as two cargo vessels carrying urea, machinery, and general cargo docked at the port, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to details, HOM Leader is loaded with 367.7 tons of general cargo, and MOP Dolphin is carrying 1035 tons of urea.

All arrangements have been completed for the smooth clearance of both cargo ships. A spokesperson for Gwadar Port said the vessel carried multiple categories of trade items, which were currently being unloaded as scheduled.

Speaking on the occasion, Gwadar Port Authority Chairman Noorul Haq Baloch said the continuous arrival of cargo ships was clear evidence that the port was gradually emerging as an important hub for regional trade.

He said international commercial activity at the port was expanding steadily due to modern facilities, efficient operations, and an improved logistics system.

The port of Gwadar is a central component of the multi-billion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, under which Beijing has invested tens of billions of dollars in transport, energy and infrastructure projects across Pakistan.

Pakistan has long viewed the deep-sea port as a strategic asset to boost trade with Central Asia and the Gulf, while generating valuable foreign exchange earnings.
