The independence movement in Nagaland, under Indian occupation, has intensified with renewed calls for unity and resistance against New Delhi’s control, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
According to the report, in a powerful statement, the spokesperson of the Nagaland Army declared that the people of Nagaland are determined to reclaim their land, identity, and future.
“In this world, we have our homeland. If our existence is real, then so is our territory. Very soon, we will stand together with our land, our history, and our future,” the spokesperson affirmed.
The statement further emphasised the need for unity, “We must not divide ourselves when our house is burning. All people must rise for a free and independent homeland. Our land, our security, and our future are under threat – and for this, we must be one.”
According to the Nagaland Army, the struggle has now transformed into a people’s movement, with growing public leadership and mobilisation.
The spokesperson underscored, “The time for our independence, our identity, and our homeland is drawing near. We are glad to see people’s leadership emerging in the freedom movement. The movement for freedom is no longer limited to the Nagaland Army – it has become the people’s own struggle.”
The message also urged the international community to raise its voice for a referendum and self-determination in Nagaland.
In a strong condemnation of New Delhi, the spokesperson said the “incompetent and oppressive Modi regime” has failed to silence the voice of self-determination, not just in Nagaland but also in Kashmir and Junagadh, where India continues its illegal occupation.
“The day is not far when our brothers and sisters in Kashmir will also breathe freely in the air of independence, away from India’s illegal hold,” the statement concluded.
