A major accident was averted on Saturday when a Karachi-bound flight narrowly escaped disaster after a bird struck one of its engines while preparing for takeoff at Islamabad International Airport, 24NewsHD TV reported.

According to initial reports, the Airbus A320, operating as Airblue Flight 207 from Islamabad to Karachi, was taxiing on the runway when the bird hit its engine.

The impact caused significant damage to the aircraft’s engine, forcing authorities to immediately ground the plane.

As a result, the flight was canceled, along with its return leg from Karachi to Islamabad, since the aircraft was rendered unfit for service.

The sudden cancellation left dozens of passengers stranded at the airport.

The frustrated travelers staged protests inside the terminal, accusing the airline of poor communication and mismanagement.

Eyewitnesses reported scenes of chaos and heated arguments as passengers demanded alternative arrangements or compensation.
