A clash between two student groups over a tribute to the victims of the Army Public School attack in 2014 erupted at the International Islamic University (IIU) in Islamabad on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to sources, the Pakhtun Council had arranged a commemoration ceremony for the martyrs of the APS massacre, but the Islami Jamiat Talaba (IJT) opposed the event and tried to disrupt it.
The IJT activists allegedly attacked the Pakhtun Council members with sticks and chanted slogans against them.
The Pakhtun Council then called the police for help, who arrived at the scene and restored order. The
police are currently deployed at the old campus of the university, where the incident took place. The IJT, however, is still protesting and raising slogans. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far.
