FBR levies more taxes on non-filers during transactions in FY 2025-26

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) on Wednesday notified different percentages of taxes on non-filers for the fiscal year, 2025-26, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Now non-filers will pay 9.8 percent tax while withdrawing cash of over Rs50,000 from a bank.

Savings account profits will be taxed at 20% for filers and 40% for non-filers.

Non-filers will be charged 10% tax on international payments made through debit and credit cards.

Tax rate for non-filers on prize bonds and lottery winnings set at 30 to 40 percent. Teachers and providers of other services will pay 30 percent tax.

Tax collection of 30 percent from non-filers and 15 percent from filers on dividend income will be ensured.

Non-filers will pay 7.5 percent tax on electricity bills of more than Rs25,000.

Tax on non-filers of wedding halls and other events will be non-refundable.

Retailers will pay 2.5 percent tax. The Federal Board of Revenue will provide all financial facilities to people who are included in the tax net.
