Federal Minister for the Board of Investment Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh on Wednesday held a meeting with a delegation from China’s Fintopia, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral investment ties and expanding cooperation in technology and digital finance.
Speaking during the meeting, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh described Pakistan and China as “iron brothers” and said bilateral investment collaboration was steadily expanding. He noted that the Fintopia delegation’s visit was part of the follow-up to the Pakistan–China B2B Investment Conference, aimed at translating dialogue into concrete partnerships.
The minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the government was placing special focus on promoting technology-driven and digital investments. He highlighted Pakistan’s position as the world’s fifth most populous country, calling it a large and attractive market for international investors.
Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said fintech and digital finance initiatives would play a key role in supporting small businesses and expanding entrepreneurial opportunities for young people across the country. He added that such projects could significantly contribute to financial inclusion and economic growth.
The Chinese delegation was briefed on reforms introduced under the Business Facilitation Centre and the Ease of Doing Business Act. Officials also outlined incentives available to foreign investors, including opportunities within Special Economic Zones.
Assuring the delegation of full cooperation, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said the Board of Investment remained fully committed to facilitating potential investments and partnerships, particularly in high-growth sectors such as fintech and digital services.
