Railways minister Hanif Abbasi briefs top officials on reforms

Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Wednesday held a meeting with Defence Secretary Lt (r) General Muhammad Ali to discuss ongoing reforms and future plans for Pakistan Railways, 24NewsHD TV reported.

Secretary Power Division Dr Fakhr Alam Irfan and Director General National Logistics Cell (NLC) Major General Farrukh Shehzad Rao were also present during the meeting.

During the briefing, the federal minister provided a detailed overview of administrative, financial, and operational reforms aimed at improving efficiency and sustainability within the department.

The meeting also featured in-depth discussions on enhancing railway infrastructure, expanding freight services, and improving passenger facilities to ensure better service delivery and increased revenue generation.

The defence secretary and other senior officials appreciated the reform initiatives undertaken by the railways minister and expressed confidence in his vision and leadership. 

The participants also agreed to strengthen institutional cooperation and enhance coordination among relevant departments to further support Pakistan Railways’ development in the future.
