Pakistan Rangers Sindh and Special Investigation Unit (SIU) Police have arrested seven accused belonging to the extortion group Jamil Changa and Samad Kathiawari from District Central and City South in Karachi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to Sindh Rangers spokesperson, accused Pervez alias Pawa, Asghar Ali, Shakeel Ahmed alias Comrade, Faizan alias Lambo and Muhammad Zubair alias Choto were arrested in an injured condition.
Muhammad Sabir and Muhammad Umar alias Afshani Baloch were also arrested.
Arms and ammunition were also recovered from the possession of the accused.
The arrested accused opened fire at the Jeddah Barbeque (BBQ) Fast Food Shop in Nazimabad in October 2025 for not paying the extortion.
The accused can be clearly seen in the CCTV footage of the incident.
The accused used to send the money received from the extortion to the foreign-based ringleader Jamil Changa, Samad Kathiawadi and Usama Jamil.
Various cases have been registered against the accused in different police stations of Karachi of extortion and attempted murder.
However, further investigation is underway against the accused.
