Hefty increase in transport fares in Lahore

Following in the footsteps of the government regarding the unprecedented increase in petroleum prices, transporters in Lahore on Thursday also played the part to squeeze the masses by heavily increasing fares, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

Passengers have expressed their anger over the hefty increase in transport fares, saying that they do not know what the government wants from them.

“We are already suffering from high inflation, and now the increase in transport fares will add to our woes,” they stated. “Earlier, entire families would travel in public transport, but now we prefer to travel alone,” they added.

It has been learnt that the transporters have increased Lahore to Peshawar fare from Rs1,500 to Rs1,600.

Similarly, Lahore to Islamabad fare has been increased from Rs1,300 to Rs1,350.

Lahore to Sargodha fare has been increased from Rs670 to Rs750.

Lahore to Sialkot fare has been increased from Rs550 to Rs600.

Lahore to Multan fare has been increased from Rs1,230 to Rs1,300.

Lahore to Rajanpur fare has been increased from Rs1,500 to Rs1,600.

Lahore to Karachi fare has been increased from Rs3,550 to Rs3,750.

Lahore to Bahawalpur fare has been increased from Rs1,300 to Rs1,360.

Lahore to Khanewal fare has been increased from Rs1050 to Rs1,120.

Lahore to Faisalabad fare has been increased from Rs650 to Rs700.

Lahore to Dera Ghazi Khan fare has been increased from Rs1,350 to Rs1,400.

Lahore to Taunsa Sharif fare has been increased from Rs1,450 to Rs1,480.
