The mother of Iqbal Khan, who was allegedly accused of the F-9 Park rape case and killed by Islamabad police in an encounter claimed that her son was killed unjustly in a fake encounter.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the mother of accused Iqbal Khan, who was killed in the alleged police encounter, applied to the Federal Ombudsman, DIG and SSP Operation for an inquiry into the fake encounter.
The plea of the mother of the deceased Iqbal Khan made the police encounter suspicious.
She said in her appeal to the authorities that her son Iqbal Khan was arrested from home on February 15 at 3 o'clock without giving her a reason.
She said a written application was also given at the police station, and the tag number was also given to her but the next day at 4 o'clock she received a call that her son had been killed in a police encounter.
She said in the application that her son Iqbal Khan who was a labourer and innocent was taken away alive by the police.
She said the SHOs and fellow employees of Golra, Shalimar and Margalla police stations were responsible for her son's murder.
In the petition, the victim's mother demanded legal action and justice against those responsible.
It is worth mentioning that two suspects involved in gang raping a woman at F-9 Park were shot dead in an alleged encounter with Islamabad police in Sector D/12 yesterday (Thursday, Feb 16, 2023).
As per the case, the accused, riding a motorcycle, had fired shots at police officials at a picket first, police said. They died in retaliatory firing by the policemen, they added.
The bodies of the deceased were shifted to hospital. Further investigation was underway.
There were earlier reports about the arrest of the two rape accused but the police did not confirm them.
Two armed men had allegedly raped a girl in Islamabad's F-9 area at gunpoint a few days ago, an incident that has sent the nation into shock.
The incident took place at night when two armed men approached the victim at a park in F-9, who was there with her male colleague, according to the first information report (FIR).
The gun-totting aggressors took the two to a nearby thick forest and separated them, according to the FIR. The attackers beat the young woman up when she pleaded to let her go and even offered them money in exchange for her safety, the FIR reads.
The victim, when tried to raise her voice, was beaten and threatened by the attackers that they would call their ‘friends’ to join them. Her attempts to run away were also foiled by the attackers, the FIR stated.
The alleged culprits returned "all our things and gave us Rs1,000 to stay quiet" while also telling the victim that she should not be in the park at this time of the night, according to the FIR.
The victim underwent a medical examination at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
