Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) President Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Monday that opposition should be heard with an open heart.
Speaking during the National Assembly session, Fazl said it has been more than a year now since formation of the incumbent government, but it has failed to normalize it relations with the opposition. If this atmosphere of intolerance continues to persist, he said, chaos will prevail in the lower house of the parliament. He said that government departments are being disbanded one after other and people are being rendered jobless. He said the government has been showing stubbornness and non-cooperation for the last one year.
The JUI chief said that national security policy is being made behind the closed doors. He said that above the government, politics and parliament are being made. He said there is no writ of the government in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said that even Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif does not know anything about the situation in the formerly Federally Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA). He said that Pakistani jirgas visit Afghanistan, but the prime minister is not aware of this. He said that powers that be make any decision they want and the government is bound to endorse those decisions.
Highlighting the plight of the common man in Pakistan, Fazl said that ordinary people have neither jobs nor protection of life and property. He said that political matters of Pakistan should be handed over to politicians. He questioned the logic behind IMF delegation’s meetings with the chief justice of Pakistan and representatives of the Supreme Court Bar Association.
Fazl claimed that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has some minerals, which are used to make spaceships. He said the United States, China and Russia need these minerals therefore they want to take control of some areas of Pakistan.
