PDMA warns of strong winds, rain, and snowfall across Punjab and hilly areas

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a weather alert for various regions of Punjab and hilly areas, predicting strong winds, rain, and snowfall from February 19 to 21.

According to a PDMA spokesperson, westerly winds are expected to enter the upper parts of the country, bringing significant weather changes.

In Punjab, districts including Sargodha, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Khushab, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujarat, Lahore, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Faisalabad, Sheikhupura, Narowal, and Sialkot are likely to experience rain. On February 19, light rain is also expected in Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Okara, and Bahawalnagar.

Murree, Galiyat, and other hilly areas are expected to receive both rain and snowfall, prompting authorities to advise tourists to exercise caution.

DG PDMA Irfan Ali Kathia emphasized that tourists should plan their activities carefully, keeping the weather conditions in mind. He also urged citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during adverse weather.

The PDMA control room is monitoring the situation 24/7, and citizens can contact the PDMA helpline at 1129 in case of emergencies. Authorities are on high alert to ensure public safety during the predicted weather disruptions.
