South Indian actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao NTR Jr. who recently appeared as lead in the hit movie having one of the biggest cast RRR chit chatted with a marvel executive at the after party of the Golden Globe Awards after-party. After this meeting, it is hinted that the star might be seen in an upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie.
NTR stated that he would love to be a part of MCU and he might be somewhat close to actually playing a part in a Marvel project. RRR’s Komaram Bheem expressed his excitement for being a part of a marvel project to Variety journalist Marc Malkin after which he was introduced to Marvel Studios executive Victoria Alonso by the Journalist at the after-party.
Malkin confirmed the rumours about NTR’s meeting with Victoria in a Variety article, stating that the meeting was very short but it actually did happen. He said “I introduced NTR Jr to top Marvel Studios executive Victoria Alonso at Billboard’s official Golden Globes after-party on January 10. The two chatted for only a moment, but let’s hope this is the start of something big,” said Malkin.
Minutes after Rao expressed his wish to be a part of MCU, his co-star Ram Charan also put forth the same wish. “Absolutely, Captain America! Why not? We also have amazing superheroes in India. Why not invite one of our superheroes to come here?” said Charan while talking to Variety.
Lately, many South Asian artists are being seen in Marvel projects carrying very major and lead roles like Fawad Khan, Farhan Akhtar, Kumail Nanjiani, Riz Ahmed and others.
Ram Charan and Jr NTR were in Los Angeles recently attending the Golden Globes ceremony with RRR director SS Rajamouli as their movie was nominated in two categories — Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu, and in the Best Non-English Language Film. The film won in the Best Original Song category, beating the more popular contenders like Rihanna and Taylor Swift.
The Golden Globes win heightened the chances of RRR actually getting nominated for the upcoming Oscars. The movie has been submitted in various categories, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actor among others.
