Pakistani Ambassador to Iran Mudassar Tipu has advised Pakistani students and citizens travelling back to Pakistan by land to strictly observe Iran’s official border crossing hours in order to avoid inconvenience and potential difficulties.
In a message posted on X, Ambassador Tipu said that border operating hours in Iran are from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, and urged travelers to reach the border three to four hours before closure time. He stressed that failure to follow these timings could result in travellers being stranded.
Ambassador Tipu shared that earlier on the same day, four Pakistani female students were stranded at the Gabd–Ramdan border after it was closed. He said that upon Pakistan’s request, the Iranian authorities extended immediate assistance despite ongoing long holidays.
“I am deeply grateful to Iran for this immediate help,” the ambassador said, also expressing appreciation to the Balochistan government for its timely intervention in resolving the issue.
Highlighting safety concerns, Mudassar Tipu strongly emphasized that women and children should prefer travelling via the Taftan–Zahedan border, which he described as a safer and more reliable option.
The ambassador thanked Pakistani citizens for their cooperation and understanding, reiterating the importance of careful travel planning and adherence to official border schedules.
