A rooster turned its owner into a millionaire overnight after winning a high-stakes cockfight in the western district of Andhra Pradesh, India, 24NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.
According to Indian media, the victorious owner, Ramesh from Rajahmundry, had carefully raised his Dega breed rooster for six months, feeding it a nutritious diet before entering it into the competition.
His opponent was a Sithua breed rooster owned by Prabhakar from Godavari.
The fight drew a large crowd of spectators, and Ramesh’s Dega rooster emerged triumphant, securing a prize of ₹1.53 crore (approximately $185,000) bet.
Neighbours and friends celebrated Ramesh’s victory by lifting him onto their shoulders amid cheers.
